Fake tweet quoting Rana Ayyub goes viral again, she threatens legal action
The latest person to join this bandwagon is Madhu Purnima Kishwar who is a habitual offender when it comes to spreading misinformation.
Journalist Rana Ayuub is not new to threats and trolling, but it does seem that the right-wing ecosystem can't get enough of her.
A fake tweet attributed to her, by a fake Twitter handle, is doing the rounds on Twitter and is generating a lot of buzz.
The tweet says:
"Minor child rapists are also human, do they have no human rights. This Hindutva Government is bringing ordinance for death to child rapists just to hang muslims in larger numbers. Muslims aren’t safe in India anymore”.
This was tweeted by a Twitter handle claiming to be @republicTv way back in April 2018. However, the fact that this is fake has even been busted by Ayyub herself, and yet it seems to have no effect on those netizens who seem to have taken up a pledge to spread fake news.
The latest person to join this bandwagon is Madhu Purnima Kishwar who describes herself as a 'factarian'. Kishwar is a habitual offender when it comes to spreading misinformation.
In December 2018 she had claimed that people raised slogans in favour of Pakistan at a Congress rally in Rajasthan. The video she tweeted was found to be fake.
Many on Twitter are now criticising Kishwar for this tweet; with Ayyub even threatening legal action against her. And this seems to have worked as Kishwar has now deleted her tweet.
About time I take you to court Madhu Purnima Kishwar. Your fake news factory needs to be busted https://t.co/YJW4xzS8Nm— Rana Ayyub (@RanaAyyub) June 12, 2019
My apologies for having trusted a very eminent person who sent me fake tweet about Rana Ayyub. I may have a 1000 differences with her but I would not use any fake information against the #BreakUpIndiaBrigade.— MadhuPurnima Kishwar (@madhukishwar) June 12, 2019
Madhu Kishwar doing again what she does best - Spreading hatred through fake news and screenshots. She will later delete it without apology to @RanaAyyub. If u look at replies, many of the ignorant bigots believe her and will spread it further. Her job is done https://t.co/t6GWLgtJIS— Joy (@Joydas) June 12, 2019
But Ayyub is adamant on taking Kishwar to the court.
Don't care about your apology Madhu Kishwar. This was a deliberate act and has unleashed vile threats on my timeline. See you in Court ! https://t.co/A5AdJmczBR— Rana Ayyub (@RanaAyyub) June 12, 2019
Before Kishwar, Bollywood film-director and staunch BJP supporter Ashoke Pandit shared the same picture but deleted it later.
