Fashionista: What to wear to a brunch date
Brunch is an excuse to drape yourself in some exquisite threads and chill with your girlfriends. I put together my fantasy brunch outfit. What's yours?
A weekend is nothing without brunch, and brunch is not just an excuse to drink cocktails before lunch. It’s also an excuse to drape yourself in some exquisite threads and chill with your girlfriends. I put together my fantasy brunch outfit; as you can see it’s rather soft and feminine, but bold at the same time.
The blush tie waist top from Parosh features a round neck, long sleeves with slits, a fitted tie waist, and a straight hem. It retails for around $500, and that’s why it’s my fantasy and not a reality. BUT you can buy a similar top from Vero Moda; this adorable polka dotted tie waist top retails for around 2299 rupees and can be purchased here.
The elegant wide-leg trousers from The Row are relaxed fit and retails for around $790. A satin drawstring ribbon at the waist lets you control your fit, and it makes for a chic look. Obviously, these trousers are beyond the reach of a number of us, but these aren’t. Biba’s relaxed white trousers retail for 1199 rupees on FlipKart.
The adorable pink leather bag is from Yuzefi, and retails for around 75000 rupees. It is rendered in leather and features a chunky metal chain strap and a removable shoulder strap. Don’t despair; you can opt for this textured black handbag with a chain strap from Ajio; it will only set you back 3695 rupees.
The black and grey round-toe pumps from Stuart Weitzman retail for $50. They have patent leather trim, tonal stitching throughout, covered heels, and buckle closure at their uppers. $50 pumps are within reach for a lot of us, but I like this pair of patent finish stiletto pumps from Koovs that retail for 1599 rupees.
Accessories should not be forgotten, and the heart locket pendant necklace, as well as the gold hoops, are both from Forever 21, and retail for around 4 pounds each. The magnetically sealed locket pendant necklace is embossed with a bow and wreath design, which takes the bow theme to the jewellery. If you’d like to buy something closer to home, opt for this simple gold heart pendant necklace for 416 rupees from Order2India. As for the earrings, you can’t go wrong with these adorable gold-plated hoop earrings from Nicobar that retail for 1150 rupees.
