Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, with the annual earnings of USD 25 million, is the only Indian Forbes list of world's highest-paid athletes.
The first three positions are occupied by Football players. Barcelona and Argentina football superstar Lionel Messi topped the list with massive annual earnings of $127 million, followed by Cristiano Ronaldo ($109 million) and Neymar ($105 million).
(Ronaldo comes second with the annual earnings of $109 million.)
According to the Forbes list announced on Tuesday, Kohli's estimated earnings are USD 21 million from endorsements and USD 4 million from salary and winnings, taking his total tally to USD 25 million for the last 12 months.
However, Kohli was at the 83rd position last year and dropped down to 100th this year. This is despite the fact that his net endorsement increased $1 million.
(Despite increase in income, Kohli slipped from 83rd to 100th position)
Messi has dethroned retired boxer Floyd Mayweather as the sports world's highest earner. Mayweather hasn't entered the ring since last 12 years.
